Dear Sock Lover,

It seems July is a great time to celebrate one's country. In the United States we celebrate our independence from the Brits. And our members in the north have Canada Day. We don't know what that is, but we like the sound of it. Here's a list of things we love about July: parades, fireworks, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, sweating, concerts, ice cream sandwiches, baseball games and family reunions. These holidays inspire so much enthusiasm for one's country that Nathan's hot dog eating contest was supposedly started to settle a dispute among four immigrants about who was most patriotic...what could be next, a sock off?
